RFP - Alberta Esports Strategy
Alongside Calgary Economic Development, Edmonton Screen Industries Office, Explore Edmonton, Edmonton Global and Tourism Calgary, the Alberta Esports Association is proud to support the request for proposal for the Alberta Esports Strategy. AESA and the project partners aim to attract meaningful collaborators to help establish a plan of action for this burgeoning’s industry development.
“This represents a tremendous step forward in terms of supporting growth and bringing legitimacy to the industry,” says Ryan Coutts, Business Development Executive. “Having a dedicated provincial esports strategy will help evolve the common perception of esports from hobby to legitimate career option.”
AESA has been at the forefront of province-wide esports advocacy with our history in local gaming communities for over a decade. Moving forward, the organization will continue to support successful vendors and communities as Alberta establishes itself as an international leader in esports.
On this new proposal, Victor Ly, president and cofounder, says:
“Our core values, mission, and vision were the cornerstones upon which this strategy is built - we are honored that both our organization and our Strategic Plan will play a direct role in the development of this provincial strategy.”
Vice president and cofounder Brad Jones expresses his excitement on the future of Albertan esports:
“A finished esports strategy would allow the province a level of confidence and planning that could really push Alberta to match the extremely successful esports regions. It's also a major keystone in getting government recognition, involvement, and support - this kind of document answers all the questions someone might have. This strategy further legitimizes ourselves outside of events, creating pathways that are to be followed by others, and is one of the reasons we exist.”
