The Alberta Esports Championships is open to junior high and high school students in Alberta looking to compete across three exciting Esports titles. Over 450 Alberta junior high and high school students between the ages of 10-18 will compete in high-stakes esports competitions in Rocket League (PC), VALORANT (PC), and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Nintendo Switch).

Alberta Esports Championship is put together by the Alberta Scholastic Esports League and The Alberta Esports Association. 2025 follows up on the highly successful 2024 inaugural Alberta Esports Championship held in Lethbridge, AB.

AEC 2025 is open to schools in Alberta only.

Teams must be registered by a staff or administrator from their respective schools.

FAQ

  • Schools are permitted to register a maximum of two Rocket League teams, one VALORANT team, and up to eight Smash players per age division (U15/U18). We've made the tough decision to limit registrations to ensure that we have enough hardware for everyone to get a fair number of matches in during the weekend.

  • To make things as simple as possible, you will only be required to provide your contact information and general information about your team(s). PLEASE NOTE: In order to confirm your registration, you will need to provide the gamer tags of all of your players closer to the event date. More information about the registration confirmation process will be released shortly.

  • AEC 2025 will be completely free for players to attend! You may register your players at no additional cost for this event.

  • We are working with our hotel partners to deliver affordable rates to all AEC guests. Information about discounted rates will be shared on our event webpage (see below) and communicated via Discord & email.
